Tuscumbia Educational/ Nutritional Plan: April 5, 2020 7:00PM

The health, education, and nutrition continue to be of crucial importance to the board, faculty, and staff of Tuscumbia City Schools. With that said, the following are details about our plan including dates, times, and locations of the various aid we plan on providing. Nutritionally: Starting Tuesday, April 7th, we will distribute a week's worth of food to any child 18 years or younger at the back parking lot of Deshler Middle School between the hours of 9:30 and 11:00 AM.  Students must be present to receive the packages. Academically: Students without wifi access or opting to work on the lessons with paper and pen may pick up grade level assignment packets at the front of each school for GWT, RET and the Middle school, and in the main office of the High school on Tuesday, April 7th from 9:00AM-12:00 Noon. Students with wifi or internet access that wish to complete their work on a school assigned chromebook will need to go to the Deshler High School gym parking lot and fill out appropriate paperwork to receive a chromebook. Family size and circumstances will dictate the number of chromebooks assigned to each family. Please arrive at Deshler High School at the following times based on the oldest sibling attending Tuscumbia City Schools: Deshler High School student: 8:30-9:30AM. Deshler Middle School student: 9:30-10:30, RET student: 10:30-11:30, and if your oldest child is a GWT student: 11:30-12:30. We hope that these measures, along with you bringing your own pen will keep us in compliance with all health orders. Please do not get out of your vehicle at any location, your student needs to be present for food and chromebook distribution, our employees will be constantly sanitizing, wearing masks, and practicing social distancing to stay as safe as possible. If your child is not in need of any of the mentioned programs, they should be able to access their assignments digitally beginning Tuesday, April 7th.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to the teachers, principals, guidance counselors, or Central Office staff if you have any questions or concerns, and our school websites will continue to have the most updated information. It is our sincere wish that your families stay healthy during these difficult times.
