I graduated from Deshler High School in 1984.  I received my B.S. and M.A. in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Alabama (UNA) in Florence Alabama.  In 2005, I received my M.A. in Library Science from the University of West Alabama (UWA) in Livingston, Alabama.

The 2017- 18 school year starts my eleventh year as the librarian/media specialist at R. E. Thompson.  Before serving as the librarian, I taught 3rd grade for nine years at R.E.T.  I taught preschool, first, second, and third grade during my career at Mars Hill Bible School between 1990 -- 1997.

I have been an avid reader my entire life.  As a child, I loved reading the Nancy Drew Mystery Series by Carolyn Keene and the Little House Series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.  I enjoy reading the Harry Potter books by JK Rowling, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, watching Alabama football (Roll Tide!), Atlanta Braves baseball, and creating memory albums.
